Peter Calleya, President ifs Malta, was elected to the Committee in 2003 and has served in various roles including that of Vice President for over 10 years before being elected President in 2023. He has also been serving as an elected Executive Board Member of the brussels-based European Banking & Financial Services Training Association (EBTN) since 2010. Peter has been a financial services practitioner for over 35 years with HSBC Bank Malta and held the positions of Head of Strategic Planning and Capital Management, Head of Governance of Commercial Banking and Senior Marketing Manager International for HSBC Europe before before taking up his current role of Client Tax Reporting and Analytics. Peter is a Visiting Senior Lecturer and examiner at the University of Malta. He is also a UK Chartered Banker, UK Chartered Marketer and a Fellow of the LIBF and CBI.
Joined the BOV Group in 1987. He occupied various roles at Bank of Valletta plc. He was appointed as Executive Head at BOV Asset Management, the Bank’s Asset Management arm in 2011. Mark is currently the Executive Head of BOV Wealth Management. Mark holds an Honours Degree in Financial Services and is an Associate of LIBF.
Bonamy has been elected to the committee in 2019 and currently serves at the Education sub-committee and the Marketing sub-committee. Bonamy has been working in the financial sector for the last 15 years and currently is the Head of Corporate Department at FCM Bank. She previously held various managerial positions at HSBC Group where she served both locally and internationally. Bonamy holds as Masters Degree in Business Administration, as well as a Bachelor of Commerce Degree with an honours in Management both from the University of Malta.

Elected Committee Member since 2000, she spent two years in the capacity of Secretary. Wendy also served on a number of sub-committees of which, Education and Activities, where in the latter served also in the role of Activities Director. She has also collaborated on EU projects related to education in the financial services industry. Currently, Wendy is the Manager of Financial Stability Surveillance and Assessment Office at the Central Bank of Malta.
Joined the Committee in 2012, Joseph has been employed in the financial services sector since 1981, mostly in lending, risk management and compliance, serving on the board of directors since 2009 as Executive Director of Volksbank Malta and since 2014 Director and CEO of OTP Financing Malta Company Ltd. He holds an MBA in general strategic management and has been an associate of the LIBF since 1992.
Elected to the Committee in 2013, Adrian currently holds non-executive directorships and independent investment committee member roles with a number of entities. He was previously CEO for an online FX brokerage business, Portfolio Manager within Asset Management, and Head of Wealth Solutions at Mediterranean Bank plc. He also held various positions with HSBC Bank in the Wealth Management and Asset Management in Malta, and in the Fund Administration and Custody unit both in Luxembourg and in Malta. Adrian was a part-time lecturer at the Faculty of Economics, Management and Accountancy at the University of Malta. He holds an MSc in Banking and International Finance from City University Business School (CASS) in London and a BCom (Hons) in Banking and Finance from the University of Malta.
Elected to the committee in 2017 and serves as the ifs Malta Communications lead. Jean is a versatile Marketer with over 20 years local and international experiences and is currently the Head of Operations at the National Development and Social Fund – Malta’s sovereign wealth fund. He previously held several senior positions at both the BOV and HSBC Group. Jean also serves as Deputy Chairperson on the Management Board of the Majjistral Nature and History Park, Director at the Junior Achievement (Young Enterprise) Malta Foundation, Member of the Endeavour Scholarships Scheme Board and Visiting Lecturer at the Institute of Leadership and Management as well as the University of Malta’s Junior College.
Karl has been elected to the committee in 2017 and currently serves at the Education and HR sub-committees. Karl has been working in the financial services sector for the last 26 years, spending the initial 14 years at HSBC. He subsequently joined Banif Bank (Malta) plc, now BNF Bank plc, and currently is the Head of Corporate Services Department. Karl holds a Masters Degree in Training & Human Resource Management from the University of Leicester.

Joined Lombard Bank Malta plc in 1988. He occupied various roles within Lombard Bank plc, amongst which that of Credit Officer in Commercial Credit, Credit Control Manager and Branch Manager. Alexander is currently the Credit Risk Coordinator at Lombard Bank Malta plc – Risk Department. Alexander holds a degree in Financial Services.

Joseph J. Agius is the Head of Financial Stability at Malta Financial Services Authority. He was previously Deputy Director of the Securities and Markets Supervision Unit within this regulatory organisation and in this role he was responsible of the funds and investment firms sector in Malta. He started his career with Mid-Med Bank Ltd in 1978, holding various roles in the retail network. In 1992 he was deployed as a credit analyst at Mid-Med Bank’s Office Credit Department with responsibility for credit analysis preparation as well as post credit decisions. In 1997, he formed part of a small team tasked with setting up of Mid-Med Finance Ltd, the group’s merchant banking arm and later on that year he was appointed the Deputy Head of this Company. He joined HSBC Malta’s fund management subsidiary in 2000 and has held senior positions in investment management, fund administration and custody. He was, for a number of years, an active member of the committee at the Malta Funds Industry Association. He is a member of the Committee of the Institute of Financial Services Malta.

Elaine was elected to the IFS committee in 2023 and forms part of the Education and the HR sub-committees. She has worked at APS Bank for the past 23 years and is currently Head of Career Development. Elaine has extensive experience and knowledge on the full HR spectrum, currently specialising on Training and Career Development, working on retention, career-pathing and succession planning. Elaine holds an MBA from Leicester University.

Clayton Scicluna, is a financial professional, acting as a Lead Portfolio Manager at BOV Asset Management, a key subsidiary of Bank of Valletta plc in Malta. Joined the BOV Group in 2006, he has excelled in diverse roles, focusing on Financial Advice and Investment Management. Armed with a Bachelors in Economics and Management, a Masters in Business Administration, and certification as a European Financial Analyst (CEFA®). He has been recently appointed as a Committee member of the Institute of Financial Services of Malta.
