ifs Malta has successfully adopted a new way of reaching out to its students through innovative training delivery methods. This is the first time since its inception in 1961 that the Institute is using technology to deliver lectures in a virtual learning environment. During the online learning experience, students benefit from tutor contact during lectures and are able to communicate and fully interact with each other. Tutors and students also like the flexibility of virtual learning, especially not having to physically travel.
“Our committee has done an outstanding job in a very limited time to adopt virtual learning as a result of the uninvited COVID-19 situation. We are very pleased to be able to offer a premium quality service which enables students to continue learning from the safety and comfort of their own homes” said Kenneth B Micallef, ifs Malta President.
In the very near future, ifs Malta school plans to introduce other digital/virtual services and also offer digital individual home examinations.
The first ifs virtual lecture was delivered by Lisa Vella, facilitating learning to students reading for their LIBF Diploma for Financial Advisors (DipFA). Through studying DipFA, students learn all the skills they need to begin a career as a financial adviser.
“The new range of our training services now includes a blended variety of training methods, from virtual to the classic face-to-face tutor contact. The addition of online training, enhances the Institute’s traditional learning delivery structure and is very much needed as we adopt to the new ways of operating” said Mark Agius, ifs Malta Director of Education.
