IFS Malta Celebrates Student Achievements at Annual Graduation Ceremony

IFS Malta proudly celebrated the achievements of its students at the annual Graduation Ceremony held at Xara Lodge, Rabat. This event marked the successful completion of studies by over 170 candidates who have excelled in various financial and academic programs offered by IFS Malta over the past year.

Ms. Fatma Dirkes, President of the European Banking and Financial Services Training Association (EBTN), presided over the event.
In the welcome address, Mr. Peter Calleya, President of IFS Malta, highlighted the importance of the occasion, stating, “The annual graduation ceremony is a significantly meaningful event as it manifests the main purpose our Institute was established 62 years ago”, and added that “having qualified human resources with the right knowledge, skills and competencies is also beneficial to the sustainability of our dynamic and innovative financial services sector.” Mr Calleya encouraged the graduates to remain open to new learning opportunities and to continually seek professional development.

IFS Malta offers homegrown courses and through its strategic alliances, offers over 30 internationally recognised financial and academic programs ranging from Certificate to Masters level. This wide range of programs ensures that students receive top-tier education and qualifications that are respected globally.

During the ceremony, IFS certified the second cohort of students who took up and successfully completed the Award in ESG which is offered in collaboration with the University of Malta. Prof. Emanuel Said and Prof. Simon Grima, Dean and Deputy Dean respectively of the Faculty of Economics, Management & Accountancy at the University of Malta also participated in awarding these certificates.

Ms. Gabriella Borda, a lecturer at the University of Malta and an expert on renewable energy, delivered an insightful talk on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) issues. Additionally, Daniel Vella, who completed his studies leading to the Diploma of Financial Advisers, shared the experience of his academic journey, providing valuable insights and inspiration to his fellow graduates.
