On 13th March 2025, Mr Peter Calleya, Mr Mark Agius and Mr Joseph Agius of IFS Malta participated at the Micres project meeting held in Milan, Italy.
The MiCreS initiative, funded by the Erasmus+ Forward Looking Programme, is to develop the first sector-driven block-chain ecosystem for micro-credentials for financial services in Europe. IFS Malta together with its international partners, particularly the Institute Of Bankers in Ireland and under the leadership of Frankfurt School of Finance and Management are developing the Micro-credential certification on ESG. The core objective is to equip students, financial services employees and other interested parties with the knowledge and tools necessary to evaluate and align how an entity`s operations can be aligned with internationally recognized ESG standards.
The project meeting reviewed progress undertaken in the development of MiCreS training programme and set out ambitious milestones to be achieved in the coming months before the programme is eventually rolled out from an EU perspective.
Mr Peter Calleya, President, stated “ifs Malta is very proud to be a major player in this project which is at the core of the IFS Malta primary objective: to provide top grade financial services education” Ms Wendy Zammit, project lead from IFS Malta added “this programme will be of benefit, amongst others, to bank employees who, as part of their role, would need to assess how ESG has been integrated in the business operations of their corporate customers”
