IFS Annual Dinner

During the prestigious Annual Dinner of the ifs Malta held recently, Institute President Peter Calleya delivered an address in which he updated the distinguished audience on the EU Erasmus+ MiCreS project.

Mr Calleya highlighted that the MiCreS initiative brings together 13 partners from 10 countries to develop Europe’s first sector-driven ecosystem for micro-credentials, supported by blockchain-based technology. He noted that work is progressing well and that the Institute together with the Institute of Bankers (IOB), Ireland, has successfully launched a pilot qualification. As the project enters its final year, he added that ifs Malta looks forward to welcoming all partners to Malta for the next project meeting in March 2026.

The President extended his gratitude to ifs Vice President Mark Agius and Committee members Joseph Agius and Wendy Zammit for their leadership in this innovative endeavour. He also thanked the project partners in attendance for their ongoing cooperation: William Portelli, President of MUBE; and FATMA DIRKES, EBTN – The European Banking & Financial Services Training Association President and Vice President of the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, which is coordinating the project.

IFS Malta will be offering the highly anticipated Award in Environmental Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) course in partnership with the University of Malta. The course is scheduled to take place from February 2026 to May 2026.
