The Institute of Financial Services, Malta is seeking to recruit a Business Development and Corporate Relations Officer

Who we are

ifs Malta, has been at the forefront of providing and fostering professional education in the local financial services sector since 1961.  Education has always been the backbone of the financial services sector’s continuous development and this has been the key to the Institute’s success.  The Institute is committed to continue to strengthen financial services education for the benefit of its members, the financial services sector, its practitioners and the Maltese society in general.

Duties and Responsibilities:-

The Business Development and Corporate Relations Office of ifs Mala, is responsible and accountable for:-

  • executing delegated responsibilities for the day-to-day operations of the office, in accordance with the direction and policies established by the Institute’s Committee and respective line management;
  • assisting in maintaining and developing new education programmes;
  • maintaining the Institute’s accounting records, day-to-day postings and reconciliations;
  • ensuring proper record keeping and ongoing proper financial analysis of the various courses on offer;
  • maintaining the Institute’s customer database;
  • assisting with the organisation of any events organised by the Institute;
  • assisting with the drafting, distribution and uploading of any marketing material as necessary;
  • assisting in maintaining and enhancing the existing portfolio of clients;
  • presenting ideas for events and conferences, which will market ifs Malta’s services and products within the industry, through which the Institute’s profile will be enhanced;
  • maintaining relations with the various students, conference attendees, etc.

Personal characteristics, competencies and experience:-

The ideal candidate:-

  • should be a self-starter and highly motivated individual;
  • is able to work on own initiative, is reliable and trustworthy;
  • must be highly organised and with a disposition and eagerness for continuous personal development and lifelong learning;
  • must have a team-oriented approach;
  • must be of unquestionable integrity with a clean police conduct;
  • must have knowledge of the use of social media for marketing purposes;
  • should have a solid command of the English language (verbal and written) with excellent communication skills;
  • must be target driven and able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

A minimum academic qualification, ideally in a financial services area, at MQF level 5 or working towards the achievement of such is expected.  Consideration will be given to candidates with MQF level 4 qualifications.

Experience in education and knowledge of the financial services sector will be considered an asset.  All applications will be treated in strict confidence.
