Ifs Malta participated in the final conference of the Erasmus+ MiCreS (Micro-Credentials for Employability and Skills) project, held in Brussels on 29 October 2026, where European partners came together to share the achievements and outcomes of this innovative initiative.

Coordinated by the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, the project brought together 13 consortium partners to develop a micro-credential framework supporting professional skills development in banking and financial services, with a particular focus on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) competencies.

ifs Malta, in collaboration with the Institute of Bankers in Ireland (IOB), contributed to the development of the ESG curriculum and the implementation of pilot programmes in Malta and Ireland. At the Brussels conference, representatives from both institutions presented the findings, experiences and key lessons emerging from these pilots.

The Malta pilot received highly positive feedback, highlighting the value of flexible, relevant and accessible learning opportunities for financial services professionals.

ifs Malta’s participation in the project was led by Vice President Mark Agius, together with Committee Members Joseph Agius and Wendy Zammit, who contributed to the Institute’s involvement in this European collaboration.

Through its active participation in MiCreS, ifs Malta continues to demonstrate its commitment to educational innovation, sustainability and international collaboration, contributing to the development of future-ready skills within Malta’s financial services sector.
